Build A Blossom Card / Envelope

Here is our project from Allison's February  Stamp Club. It was my first time using the Build A Blossom Stamp set and coordinating Blossom Petals Punch and I fell in love with it. It's so beautiful and not as difficult as I thought it would be to use. Looking at the punch, I felt it would be hard to punch out specific petals without wasting paper, but it's not hard at all! Cutting thinner strips of paper and stamping your image multiple times, then punching and moving the paper in the same direction, means you only punch your scrap parts with the other sections of the punch. Does that make sense? lol
Here's the card we made:

We used the Rock n' Roll technique for the flower petals...To do this, you want to pick 2 colours of ink that are a few shades different, here Allison paired Bravo Burgundy and Blushing Bride. First you want to ink your stamp with the lightest colour, then take your inked stamp and roll it around the edges in your darker ink pad. Then stamp your image...it gives it such a 'lifelike' look...so pretty!!!

We also made a coordinating 3D envelope for the card, since it is quite bulky to put in a regular envelope. Allison designed this quick and easy envelope with a single piece of 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Bravo Burgundy cardstock. Just some simple scoring and a few cuts, and you get this awesome box/envelope, great for a giftcard too!  We just added some velcro for easy opening and closing of the flap.

Here's the outside of the envelope, it matches the card beautifully!

The supplies we used are:
Paper: First Edition DSP, Bravo Burgundy/Very Vanilla/ Basic Black/Always Artichoke Cardstocks
Stamps: Clearly For You, Build A Blossom
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Blushing Bride, Always Artichoke, Basic Black
Punch: Blossom Petals
Embellishments: Antique Brads, Crochet Trim, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder

Thanks Allison for another great Stamp Club project!!!
