Come Sail away....

The new Nautical themed items in the Summer Mini (starting May1), are so wonderful! For this card I used some of the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper, along with The Open Sea stamp set. The sentiment is from Word Play. Embellishments are Vintage Trinkets (tiny button brads), and the new Baker's Twine in Early Espresso.
Let's get a closer look at that twine....
For this knotted rope look, I took 3 layers of the Baker's Twine and tied a knot ever inch or so...I love it!
Ink colours used were Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Crumb Cake.

Just a reminder, only 4 more days to order from the current Occasions Mini Catalogue!! There is soooo many awesome items in there, don't miss out!

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hope you all got to spend a nice weekend with family...I worked today, making lots of goodies for everyone who came for a wonderful Easter Brunch! It was alot of fun making tons of little eastery desserts! I would post pics of the set up, but I can't retrieve them off my phone! argh! Oh well....on to my card!
I'm really into the Embedded Embossed look these days...so I did a cute little bunny face all with punches, and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder!

Isn't he cute!?
Punches used are:
2 3/8" Scallop Circle
1" circle
1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval
Word Window
Heart to Heart

Also used the 1/2" circle for background, and Scallop Oval for sentiment.  Lots o'punches!

Have a great long weekend!

Scrunchy Flowers...

We made this card at Allison's Stamp Club as well, using some of the Paisley Petals DSP and the Four Frames stamp set. I love this colour combo! The card base is River Rock, and from left to right, Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze and Soft Suede. Those cute scrunchy flowers are so simple to make! Just cut out your flowers on the Fun Flowers Die on your Big Shot, then punch out the middles with a circle punch (we used those circles on the card too) then spritz your flowers with some Stampin' Mist and scrunch into balls, let it dry...then play around with it until you get a nice shape and glue them down to your card with Crystal Effects. So fun!

Water Colouring with Stampin' Up! Wonder Crayons...

Last weekend was Allison's monthly Stamp Club, and our technique was Watercolouring. We used the
Watercolour Wonder Crayons in 2 different ways. The first was on our technique page....

We coloured the teacups with the Wonder Crayons and blended it with the Aqua Painters on Watercolour paper to get a nice blended effect. When doing this always use a permanent black ink like StazOn, so there is no bleeding.

The second way we used the Wonder Crayons was something I've never thought of before....colouring directly onto your rubber stamp with the crayons from light to dark, then spritz with water and stamp your image onto Watercolour paper. For this we used the Awash with Flowers stamp set.

What a cool technique!

Thanks Allison!

Wedding Shower Card....

I'm taking a chance on posting this before I give it to my cousin, but I'm so thrilled with it, I can't wait! I don't think she'll see this...I hope.   My cousin Bethany is getting married this June, and her bridal shower is in a month, unfortunately I am unable to go to the shower, but I am flying home for the wedding! Yippee!  Her wedding colours are Hot Pink and Black!! So I think I did pretty well with this card using Melon Mambo and Basic Black.

I absolutely LOVE this photo of her and her hubby-to-be James, it's even their engagement photo I believe!  Her wedding venue is an oldtime theatre in downtown of my home town. So I made the lovely sentiment into a ticket stub. I added some Basic Black Striped 1 1/4" Ribbon and a Big Designer Button.
I also added a little sparkle to LOVE and FAIRYTALE....Isn't this quote so amazing! This stamp is from the Full of Life stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Postage 3 x 3 cards

I wanted to showcase the other 3 stamps from the Pretty Postage set today. Yesterday I showed a card with the fourth stamp from that set, be sure to check it out if you haven't. So today I made three 3 x 3 cards...
First one is  a Thank you card:

I used the Sweet Stitches DSP and embossed it on Melon Mambo Cardstock with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder on the Big Shot!

The second card is a Birthday one:

I also embossed this one with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, it's Tempting Turquoise cardstock with some Icecream Parlor DSP. I did a little piercing around the Postage Stamp Punch.

The third card is a Love card...could be anniversary, valentine, or just because!

I think this one is my fave, I used the En Francais background stamp on the Tempting Turquoise cardstock and some Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon with a button.
Hope you enjoyed my Pretty Postage cards!

{NEW} Postage Stamp Punch and Pretty Postage set!

This new punch is available in the upcoming Summer Mini Catalogue starting May 1st!!! And it's a must-have for sure! As well as the coordinating stamp set called Pretty Postage. That set includes 4 stamps...something for everyone...birthday, thankyou, love, and this one I used today...Sweet.

I love these raspberries on the stamp, so I paired it with the designer paper from the Botanical Gazette DSP. Doesn't it look so perfect together?! I just got the En Francais background stamp...I love the subtle writing in the background. I used the same colour ink as the paper, Crumb Cake, so it's not too overpowering. The lovely new Baker's Twine in Early Espresso was used on the postage stamp, this is a new fave embellishment of mine! Comes in 3 colours too!

I will be back tomorrow to show off the other 'stamps' from the Pretty Postage set!  Still need a copy of the Summer Mini Catalogue, email me for one!

Summer Mini 2011 Sneak Peek!!!! The Open Sea

I finally got my pre-order items from the new Summer Mini Catalogue! As a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!, one of the perks is getting to order from new cattys a month in advance...but for customers, this catalogue isn't available to order from until May 1st! But that's very soon!!
One of the great things I love about Stampin' Up! is that they are definately on top of trends... and one trend happening right now is Nautical themes. So this new stamp set called The Open Sea, if a new fave of mine. It's perfect for masculine cards like this one I made.

The matching Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper is so perfect! And the new Baker's Twine is so fun, and cheap! They come in 3 colours, here I used the Early Espresso one.

If you haven't received your own copy of the new Summer Mini , contact me today!

Bunny Card

I've been seeing so many adorable bunny cards made from punches lately, so I had to give it a try. I'm sorry I don't know where I saw this particular one, but I loved how they used the button as the tail! So cute! To make this bunny yourself, just punch two Ovals for the ears,  a 1 3/8" circle for the head, and a 1 3/4" circle for the body. Then sponge around the edges with a soft pink. I used Blushing Bride ink.  The papers I used are from the Sale-a-bration freebies Icecream Parlor, i think they are perfect for a bright and cheery Easter card.

Give it a try!

So busy!

Sorry for not posting the last couple days....my work schedule has changed, yet again, and I can't quite find the time to create!  But this last weekend I was re-organizing my craft space. And haven't quite finished it yet, so there's not alot of space to work with....LOL that's my excuse! But here's a pic of my wall, I added a few more racks for punches and ribbon, and changed up my magnetic board so it's a bit cleaner looking. I added some of the Sweet Stitches Rub-ons to the board as well.

And.............this is what I woke up to this morning! Happy middle of April! Just this past weekend I was wearing my flip flops and capris!! Stupid Calgary weather!!!

My Summer Mini pre-order is scheduled to arrive today!! eeeeeeeeee! So I will try to get a few sneak peeks done for this week!

My Digital Studio Layout - Card Class

I haven't used my MDS for a little while, so here's a layout I whipped up in 20 minutes! It's photos from my Elegant Nature Card Class in February. I just love the matching digital papers! I would never be able to make this in 20 min by hand, so it's actually quite fun to do it digitally. I still love regular scrapbooking, but to get the millions of photos I have done quickly, digital is the way to go!

Another Masculine Birthday Card!

Masculine cards are sometimes quite difficult to come up with. All of us crafty women love to buy all the pretty stamps with flowers, etc...we often get stumped when it's time to make a card for the men in our lives... Here's one using the 'hand' stamp from the Bring On The Cake stamp set from the Occasions Mini (only available til the end of April!!!) This set has 13 stamps!! It's a great set to have for all kinds of birthday cards!

I used Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, and Basic Black as my colour combo. There is some Newsprint DSP (the paper with the vintage numbers) I also added some Basic Black Satin ribbon and a button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons tied on with some Linen Thread. I love that hand stamp, it's so vintage!

Check out all 13 stamp images, aren't they just fantastic!!! Get this set before April 30th, you may regret it!

Colour Challenge #2

So if you read yesterdays post, you'll know all about the little challenge my upline Allison did for me while at her house creating...so check out that post if you didn't see it....today is the second card I did. She randomly picked another colour combo from the Colour Coach, and this time it was Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, and So Saffron. The random stamp set was Just Believe...
When I was half way through making this, I realized it looked very Easter-y with the colour combo, so I added a Happy Easter sentiment, and I really like it alot!
I used the Eyelet Border Punch for the lacy effect on the side...

This little challenge was alot of fun for me...thanks Allison!
I think I'm going to challenge myself once a week to do this...I encourage you all to join in next time!

Colour Challenge #1

While I was at my Upline Allison's house the other night creating up a storm, I had her challenge me with a colour scheme and surprise stamp set! It was a blast! So this card is one out of 2 that I did during this challenge. I'll post the other one tomorrow...

So for this card, she randomly picked out a 3 colour combo from the Colour Coach (a handy tool to have on hand)...my combo was Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, and So Saffron... what an unusual combo, but it so works!
The random stamp set she picked was Priceless ...So here's what I came up with!

I did a little Faux Stitching around the Poppy Parade cardstock, added some bling with a Basic Rhinestone, and some So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon...
I think I did a good job for on the spot!

I recommend getting the Colour Coach, not just for when you get stumped, but for when you want to think outside the box. I would have never thought of this combo, but I like it!
