Birthday Flowers....Stampin' Up! style!

Well, tomorrow is my, dare I say it, 30th birthday...and it's such a gorgeous spring day today, I'm so happy!!! So I bought myself some birthday tulips and couldn't just put them in a plain old vase, I HAD to add a little craftiness to it!
I love flowers in jars! I added some Old Olive 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, and a Rose Red Big Designer Button.
Tomorrow I'm going out for dinner with a couple of my friends, looking forward to a great night out with the girls!

Have a Seat....Friend...

Happy Monday!
Well it's almost over...LOL ...it's a late post tonight!

This is a Vintage style Friend card made with the Have A Seat stamp set and the Newsprint Designer Paper. I love that paper so much! It's all different black and white newsprints from the past...The embellishments include some Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon and Raven Lace trim (not available anymore) hopefully they bring it back in the new catalogue! Fingers crossed! I also added some Basic Pearls and a Basic Grey button from the Neutrals Designer Button collection. The edge of the card is embossed with the Tulip Frame embossing folder on the Big Shot and sponged with a bit of Craft Whisper White Ink.

Anniversary card..

I was looking at some of my Designer Paper today and realized I hadn't used much of my Love Impressions DSP. It's still available in the Occasions Mini til April 30...it may be meant for Valentines Day, but I think this card is great for an anniversary, especially for a man! No pink! Yes, there is some glitter with the Red Glimmer Paper, but the rest is quite manly I'd say!
Love that Glimmer Paper!! It'll be gone soon, so grab some now!!  2 sheets (12x12) for $4.95!

Inside....

Paper: Crumb Cake Cardstock, Glimmer Paper, Love Impressions SDSP
Stamps: Hugs and Wishes, You're a Gem
Punches: Modern Label, Scallop Border

Embedded Embossed Cupcakes!

One of my fave and easy techniques is Embedded Embossing! Here I used the Build-a-Cupcake Punch from Stampin' Up!s Occasions Mini Catalogue...on now until April 30!! I used all of the In Colour DSP and punched out the cupcakes, then glued them onto the Whisper White Cardstock, I even used the 'sprinkles' as confetti. Once everything is glued down, use the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot, and that's it! so easy, and such a great look to any project!
I embellished with some matching In Colour Poly-stitched ribbon in Concord Crush, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait. A different way to add ribbon instead of your typical bow is to staple it on, like this......

Queen for a Day - Trinket Crowns

Hello Bloggers!

Sorry for the lack of projects this week...my work schedule has been a bit hectic this week. Early mornings, then later afternoon shifts, most nights I get home later than usual and I just don't feel like being creative! I'm sure you all have those moments! Well, I'm back!
Here's a card using a  Trinket Crown found in the Occasions Mini Catalogue. They come in 3 different styles, one of each, for $8.95. They also come with some lobster claw clasps for hanging on a necklace or bracelet. Super cute!

For this card I used the sneak peek Designer paper and stamp set....which you can get early too...more details to follow in a few days!!
The sentiment is from one of my fave 'word' sets from the Occasions Mini... You're a Gem... I love sets that have little sayings, they are a perfect size for punching out!

Well thanks for being patient with me!!

Good Morning everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend...and saw that Super Moon! It was overcast and light snow unfortunately for Calgary ...but I did see it Friday morning around 6 am on my way to work....it was HUGE and orange and very low in the horizon! So cool!
Anyways, here is a layout I did on MDS of my brother and his groomsmen on his wedding day. I'm planning on doing an entire book eventually, so for a little while I'm going to be working on this for fun! I will do 'The Girls' tomorrow, maybe matching this one so it will be a 2 page layout in the end.  I am really having alot of fun with My Digital Studio! Hope you all get a chance to try it out! New MDS Blog Header!

I just got My Digital Studio this week, and I have been having alot of fun playing around with it... Sure it takes some time to learn how to use it, but with alot of tweaking and deleting and a little bit of frustration...LOL  I finally designed my own Blog Header...and I really like it! I used my fave 'real life' stamp set Nature Walk and matching Designer paper Botanical Gazette!

My Digital Studio Layout #2

Here's my second layout done on Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio. My parents cat Sugar and I became 'Purrfect Friends' while I was home visiting last month. I couldn't wait to scrap some of the pics I took of her! Using the MDS software is soooo quick and simple! I used to think it was cheating since you're not actually handmaking it, but since the program has all of Stampin' Up!s products including, stamps, paper, embellishments, punches....it's hard to to fall in love with it! You can create a whole album in an hour, and get it printed and shipped to you at a click of the mouse!  Not only can you do scrap layouts, but you can make cards, birth announcements, invitations, etc....and design your own personal blog...which I am going to work on this weekend!

My Digital Studio - First Attempt!!!

I just received the My Digital Studio in the mail today and I was so excited to try it out! This was my first attempt at a digital layout, and it's dedicated to my best friend Sarah. I've known her since Kindergarten...that's 25 years! Holy cow, we're getting old...LOL
I'm still figuring out all the cool stuff with the MDS, and it's so much fun creating at a click of the mouse!

Beveled Windowpanes and Designer Fabric....

Good Morning Everyone!
Today I have a vintage card using the new Beveled Windowpanes from the Occasions Mini Catalogue (on now until April 30) These add a special touch to any card or project....here I highlighted the bird stamp from Nature Walk stamp set, my fave from the Mini Catty! I also used some Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric, cut on the Big Shot with the Scallop Circle Die. I wanted to do a quick tutorial on how to adhere large pieces of fabric to a card quick and easy...

For this I used the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets from the Mini Catty....page 39
They have a Fabric Adhesive Roll as well, but for gluing to cardstock, these sheets work just fine.No ironing!.
Cut a piece of the Adhesive sheet and Fabric, for this die the measurement is 4.5"x4.5"
Peel off the top sheet with the logos and place your fabric on top...

Lay your fabric/adhesive sheet over top of your die, make sure to line it up right...

Run it through your Big Shot with the standard cutting pads like usual...

Perfectly cut fabric!

Now peel off the white backing  and your fabric will now be sticky on the back! If you find it hard to peel off I used my bone folder and rubbed it good so all the adhesive stuck to the fabric. Now stick it to your card base!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy Birthday Gramps!

Today is my Gramps Birthday, here's a card I did for him!

I know it's always hard for us ladies to make masculine cards sometimes...but I thought this Lovely As a Tree stamp set is perfect for him. When it comes to nature, I always think of my Gran and Gramps who always had the best backyard, full of trees, flowers, vegetables and berries!
I used some masculine colours....Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake, added some Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, Seam Binding ribbon and some Vintage Wallpaper Embossing .

I also heat embossed the Trees with Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, and Versa Mark ink.

Happy Birthday Gramps!
