I can breathe! Finally finished organizing Craft Corner!

I really needed to de-clutter my work area so i can have more room to mess it up! LOL  I did some re-arranging and even organized all my scrap paper!! Colour coded too! And put all the retired papers together! What a job! I'm loving the spinny clippy rack my mom gave me ( don't know the real name for it...haha) I hung all my card samples , embellishments, even my sponges/daubers and dimensionals! Tell me what you think!  :)

It feels so good! Now to keep it this way....that's another story....  ;)

A Walk down Memory Lane.....Old School Scrapbooking!

So i've been cleaning and re-organizing my craft corner for the past few hours....and I stumbled upon one of my very first scrapbooks I made, back in 1999!, over 10 years old! And boy have my tastes changed.... Back then I loved those black paged books and use the glittery gel pens to write, plus STICKERS! Oh boy did i LOVE stickers....i still have a huge binder full at my mom's house somewhere! Looking through the book now, i can't help but laugh a bit....i seemed to use alot of funky scissors and cut out all my pictures...plus lots of stickers! LOL

Hope you enjoy some old work of mine from highschool! It's so horrible! LOL

Candy Cane Gift with Designer Fabric!

Getting in the Christmas mood a bit today!

I was in the Dollar Store today and saw these candycane jellybean containers, and instantly thought ....I could do something with that! So i covered it in Deck the Halls Designer Fabric!! Also added a tag from the Delightful Decorations stamp set and punched it out with the Ornament Punch! Finished it off with some Big Designer Buttons and Hemp Twine! So quick and looks cute and adds a real personal touch to any gift!
I just ripped strips of the fabric and wrapped it around the candycane with some sticky strip to stick it down!

I can't wait to work on all my holiday projects, i've got TONS of ideas stewing in my noggin right now! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

Layout of the Week #10

This was an emotional layout to do, can't help but have a little tear for my puppy Baxter. He had to be put to sleep last week, but he lived a wonderful and loving life! I've had him since I was 15, so it's hard to loose a part of the family. This was the best photo I've ever taken of me and 'B'!! Yes i took this myself while trying to keep him still! LOL but he was looking right into the camera which i think is so sweet! I took this last January on one of our hikes though St. John's Conservation Park in Fonthill, ON...He always loved going there and walking around the pond looking at the tadpoles and ducks...When i get my pictures printed from my last trip home in October, i will do another layout of our last walk there. Ok, i have to stop writing , the waterworks are starting...  :(

I heat embossed the snowflakes with the Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Versa Mark Ink, and Heat Tool.
Added some Felt Snowflakes, Basic Rhinestones and Kraft Ribbon...

Friends Never Fade Candle

I saw this cute Candle holder yesterday and right away i had an idea for it! It's the perfect Pumpkin Pie colour to match with the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper. So a weaved a strip of the DSP through it, added a tag and some ribbon! Great for a gift! Mine if for a certain somebody...but i'm not telling! ;)

Happy November!

If you are here from SUO Challenges....this is a post from last year! Thanks for stopping by!

It's been so beautiful here in Calgary for the past week and this coming week too! Perfect Fall weather! So in honour of that, i made a beautiful Fall card with the gorgeous French Foliage Stamp set!  And you can't have leaves without a tree...so i used the Textured Cuts Wood Sheets on this card! If you haven't worked with these before, you really must try them! You can cut them with the BIG SHOT like i did here with the Top Note die. You can also Stamp on them!!! so awesome! the images don't bleed, and you can also sponge on them too!
I stamped some leaf images on cardstock and cut them out, tied them together with some Hemp Twine and added a Mini Vintage Tag which i also stamped on! These tags are so cute, and have a little shimmer to them!

Stampin' Up! Products used:

Paper: Soft Suede Textured Cardstock, Wood Sheets, Very Vanilla Cardstock
Ink: More Mustard, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Stamps: French Foliage
Embellies: Hemp Twine, Mini Vintage Tags
Tools: BIG SHOT, Top Note die, Sponges, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Stay tuned with the Layout of the Week #10!!!! Dedicated to my beautiful dog Baxter who unfortunately had to be put to sleep this past week....miss you B! <3

13 Days of Halloween - Day 12

Handmade boxes/bags....

I got the inspiration from this wonderful video from Angie Kennedy Juda ...it's very simple to create!
I changed up the looks a bit, and used the 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon as the handle, it's thick and sturdy enough! Attached that to the box with some Pumpkin Pie cordoroy brads.
