Mermaid Prima Doll Tags

This was my first attempt at playing with Prima's Mixed Media Doll stamps by Julie Nutting. There are so many to choose from, but I thought the mermaid would be fun to play with. I created 2 different styles of tags, one bright and playful, the other with a vintage vibe.

For the vintage one, I started with a bit of stamping, then ripped a piece of Tim Holtz kraft glassine paper and crumpled/inked it. I used modeling paste with a chicken wire stencil over it and added some liquid pearls for bubbles. The mermaid consists of papers from Authentique. I added some tuile ribbon from SU finished off with a couple tassels from Prima. 

The fun bright tag had alot of layers on it. I started by ripping pieces of scraps from Bella Blvd. Molly line. Then glued them, added some stickers from the same line, then brushed on TH crackle paint. The gorgeous mermaid is so glittery! I added  tiny star glitter (MS) to the tail and some Dazzling Diamonds (SU) on her body, finished off with a flower in her hair and some enamel dots for bubbles. I really love these, and plan on putting the on a layout someday soon!

Button Tree Canvas

I've always wanted to make a button tree canvas of some sort, so I finally did it! I picked up a canvas from the dollar store, can I just say Dollar Tree is amazing!!  This is a 9x12 canvas, I covered with Bo Bunny Double dot cardstock. Then I painted a tree with black paint, and added Tim Holtz crackle paint on the trunk. I loved how that turned out,  it looks like a real trunk, all 'barky'.

Then I just glued away....tons of buttons, flowers, crocheted doilies and flowers until I was satisfied. I also drew some curly branches with a thin sharpie, then added some liquid pearls all over and sprinkling down from the tree. The 'grass' is a wide green crochet trim from Bo Bunny. I finished it off with some cute epoxy sayings. I love how bright and cheery this is, makes me want Spring to come even faster!!

Mermaid Mixed Media Canvas

I've been so excited to finally share my project with you all! I got to play with one of the new Prima doll stamps, and I picked the mermaid one. I had an idea a while ago, when I found some pretty green/blue sequins, to add them to the mermaid's tail. So I decided to try a mixed media canvas. This was my first attempt doing something like this! I started by sponging yellow ink for the sun, then 3 shades of orange to create a sunset. I used one of my new stencils from CW called Rosetta and spritzed a shimmery peach over it. For the water, I ripped pieces of cardstock into wavy strips, spritzed them with some blue shimmer and added some swirls and stickles. The sand is some crochet trim with sandy sequins. I added some splashes with liquid pearls and stickles, as well as some TH crackle paint in some areas to add some shine. The mermaid took quite a bit of patience to glue on all those sequins, but I love how it turned out, and looks like fish scales! I wanted to make her kind of look like Ariel, with red hair and purple 'clam shell bra'  I added the 'Discover' sticker from Heidi Swapp as well.

Pink Paislee - Portfolio

Back in January, for my Design week at The Scrapping Nook,  I got to play with some goodies from Pink Paislee's line, Portfolio. I created 5 layouts using the papers and tiny tabs, as well as some Jillibean Soup Flashcards and Wise Word stickers along with some Maya Road crochet trims.

February Sketch- Heidi Swapp

Every month at The Scrapping Nook, we do a sketch challenge. As part of the design team, I have to prepare a sample. I used up some of my stash for my layout including, Heidi Swapp papers and sticker letters, Stampin' Up! ribbons and heart punch.

Bo Bunny- Snow Day

I used the Snow Day line from Bo Bunny last month for the Design Team at Scrapping Nook. I created 5 layouts using these papers, chipboard, die cuts and stickers.

I also used this line for a sketch we did in January, check it out!

Farm Animal Cupcakes and Barn Cake

My little cousin Willow just turned 2 and we celebrated with an animal themed party! She loves animals and the noises they make. I made these adorable farm animal cupcakes with a little barn cake for her party. She loved them, and couldn't decide which animal she wanted, so she tested each one!

#selfie layout

This was from a 'Self Love' challenge on The Scrapping Nook. I took this selfie at a crop retreat in Banff. I used punched shapes to create a pattern on the left side. I also did some sponging with a honeycomb stencil. The papers are from Webster's Pages Family traditions line, and those cute wooden camera/polaroid pieces are from Maya Road. I'm totally addicted to enamel dots too! these ones are from MME.

Cat Drama

I made this layout a day prior to finding out my mom's orange kitten Jack had to be put to sleep for getting FIP, a rare disease most likely given to him by his stray mother. It's been a sad few days here, but I've taken tons of photos of Jack interacting with his big sis Sugar and auntie Lola through the last 5 months we had him.  Here's a layout I did of Sugar and Jack play fighting.

I miss you so much little Jack!!

Cupid's Arrow

Heres another Valentine themed LO for a challenge I did featuring my adorable cousin Caleb when he was a baby. I used Stampin' Up hear die cut page as well as glitter dot pp from Teresa Collins, Maya road arrow clip, cork arrows from Studio Calico.
